( The first image on the screen when it lights up with activity is the ever-gazing, wide eyes of a relatively expressionless Espurr. It's definitely unsettling. As the frame pans out, one can see Levi in the background—seated on a couch—and it becomes obvious that the aforementioned Espurr is the one who's not only turned on Levi's PokéGear, but is moving it as well.

A beeping from the device is what gets Levi's attention; Espurr is silent, something he's thankful for, although that only gives the Pokémon more unwarranted freedom. An impatient 'tch' is heard as Levi gets up from his spot and closes in on the frame to lift the device and take it into his own hands. His brow is furrowed, and he's about to shut off the feed before he realizes 'Well, this is as good an opportunity as any to take advantage of an audience.'
) Oi.

This one's fucked up. ( He gestures to the Espurr—still endlessly gazing, although its wide eyes have now focused on Levi, who'd stolen its toy. Who even does that? How do you know Espurr didn't have important shit to say?

Levi's expression, when he turns back to the camera, is a cross between a grimace and a sneer.
) It doesn't make any noise. It doesn't fucking blink. It just looks like this, all the time. Is this shit normal?

( After a second, Levi makes a sound like a sigh. ) But then it gets up to shit like this when I'm not looking. My other one doesn't do that. Is it bored? Am I not feeding it enough? Fuck.

( Narrowing his eyes a bit, Levi glances at the Espurr once more, then back at the camera as he holds his finger on the 'END' button. )

It's creepy as hell. ( Another 'tch' sound, then the feed shuts off. )

[So, guess what Bertolt wasn't expecting when he settled in with his Tyrantrum? Hearing that voice. Sure, Bertolt knew he should be lucky to find another person from his world but he didn't expect it to be him. For a minute or two all he does is stare until the Tyrantrum nudges his hands with its snout, and he finally shakes his head and looks down at the gear. Alright, Bert. Deep breath...

And turn the video function on.]

...T-They all have different personalities.

[Stay calm. Maybe he doesn't know about what he really is.]

...I haven't found anything like that and I've got three of those. A-And five Bloo--Goomy.

[That are still stashed away in his box because they keep dripping goo on everything. Including his poor Ninetales and Arcanine.

Bertolt scratches the Tyrantrum under the chin, toying with the scruffy beard that fluffs out at the end. Maybe he'll have to try grooming this guy one of these days to see if it'll always be scruffy like this... Either way, it's a really good distraction and it calms him down enough to get his voice under control. He's far, far away from Levi (or so he hopes), so he's safe.

For now.]

And, um... He's big because he evolved. A-And he's a different kind, obviously...

[sweats.]

...Like, um... Getting older, I guess. Sort of like tadpoles and frogs?

[LOOK that's the easiest way he can explain it! It's pretty hard to give a good definition while he's being looked at like that!]
bertall: (I need the booty)

[Maybe he should explain it with cleaning supplies. Look, the tiny soaps turn into lots of bubbles. ...Gods, and knowing how this world worked he wouldn't be surprised if there was a Pokemon like that. There's already swords and keys.]

Well... Yeah. They're really strong on their own, but sometimes it's easier for them to protect and fight for you when they're bigger. This guy, uh... Moose, he was really small when I first got him.

[He points to his 'gear to where the Purrloin is on his screen.]

I don't really know anything about those ones, but that one'll probably evolve too. One of my other Pokemon was about that size until he evolved, now he's as tall as me.
bertall: (Let's just say it was like a porno)

We're allowed to name things here. I even named one of mine after Marco.

[And Annie, but he's going to keep her under wraps until he can't avoid it anymore.] A-And yeah, they listen to names. They're really smart, even smarter than the horses back home.

[Bertolt reaches off-screen for a small book and flips it open, then he turns it towards the gear. In that book? Pictures. Lots of pictures. He took a bunch over the year and he's just starting to get some of them developed, and the one in question is a picture of a tiny Growlithe pasted next to another picture of an Arcanine.] See? They can get bigger.

[Seemingly satisfied, he sets the book down and looks at Moose, moving to scratch just behind his crest.]

...A year. I got here about a month ago, give or take a couple days.
bertall: (good luck with the booty)

There've been a couple others but they didn't say for very long. Jean and Mikasa were here when I first got here, but they vanished shortly after that. And Reiner... He was here until last month. He was only here for a little while.
